Preparation

Before replacing car headlight bulbs, it’s important to take proper safety steps and get your car ready. 

• Start by parking on a flat, stable surface to ensure your car stays steady while you work.
• Turn off the engine and set the handbrake for added safety.
• Look for the back of the headlight assembly, which is usually covered by a plastic cap or housing that secures the bulb.

Remove the old bulb

• Some cars have screws or clips holding the cover or headlight assembly in place. Grab a screwdriver to loosen them, but be careful not to strip the screws.
• Locate the electrical connector connected to the back of the bulb. Press the clip or release tab and disconnect the connector.
• Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to release it from the housing.
• Once the socket is out, gently pull the bulb out of the headlight assembly.

Install and reassemble

• Gently place the new bulb into the socket, lining it up correctly. Press it in carefully until it’s firmly in place.
• Reconnect the electrical connector to the new bulb. If you had to take off any covers, clips, or other parts, make sure to put them back where they belong.

Test the headlights

• Start your car and check if the new car headlight bulb is working as expected.
• If the headlight turns on and has the correct intensity, you’re good to go!
