Read Codes, View Live Data & Check Supported Systems
Go beyond a basic engine-code reader. Depending on the vehicle, the CR PRO+ can communicate with engine, transmission, ABS, airbag/SRS, body, steering, suspension, climate-control and other supported modules through the diagnostic connection.
- Read and clear diagnostic trouble codes after recording the fault information and completing the necessary repairs.
- Read ECU information, including available identification and software details.
- View live sensor data and supported graphs to investigate operating conditions.
- Review available freeze-frame data recorded when a fault was detected.
Bi-Directional Active Tests
Send commands to a supported component and check how it responds. Depending on vehicle coverage, examples include the ABS pump motor, window regulators, fuel pump, throttle actuator, cooling fan, horn, lights and door locks.
These output tests can help distinguish a component problem from a wiring or control issue. The tests offered in the scanner menu depend on the particular vehicle and ECU.
48 Service Functions: Everyday Maintenance & Specialist Routines
The latest manufacturer specification lists 9 commonly used service functions and 39 additional service categories. This is the overall range across supported vehicles; it is not a promise that all 48 will be available on one car.
Nine commonly used service functions

Fuel Pump Service
Activates the fuel pump after replacement.
Air Filter Control Service
Initiates the self-learning process after replacing the air filter.
Mileage Verification
Reads odometer values stored in supported ECUs for service and verification purposes; does not alter vehicle mileage.
Door Service

Rain-Light Sensor
Calibrates the rain sensor after windshield replacement or sensor renewal.
Stop And Start
Set up the automatic start-stop function in ECU.
Keep the scanner software current. Service routines may require specific operating conditions, repair procedures or workshop equipment. Ask us to check any specialist function before purchase.
AutoVIN & Manual Vehicle Selection
AutoVIN can read the vehicle identification number automatically on supported vehicles, helping you reach the correct diagnostic software more quickly.
If automatic identification is unavailable, use manual VIN entry or manual vehicle selection where supported. Confirm the model, year and engine before starting diagnosis. AutoVIN availability and diagnostic coverage are separate checks.
Live Data Graphing
View supported live readings to compare sensor behaviour and investigate intermittent faults. Graphing makes changes over time easier to follow than a static fault-code list alone.
The available data parameters and display options depend on the selected ECU and vehicle software.
OBD2 / EOBD Emissions Diagnostics
The CR PRO+ also provides standard OBD2/EOBD diagnostic functions on compatible vehicles, including:
- Read stored and pending fault codes; erase supported emissions-related codes.
- Check I/M readiness monitor status.
- View live data, freeze-frame information and vehicle identification.
- Run available oxygen-sensor, on-board monitor and EVAP system tests.
Test availability depends on the vehicle protocol and ECU. Standard emissions diagnostics and manufacturer-specific all-system coverage are different capabilities; an OBD2 socket does not guarantee every service function.
Diagnostic History & Report Printing
Access previously tested vehicle systems and retain diagnostic information for reference before and after a repair.
Printing uses a Windows PC: connect the scanner to the computer via USB and use the supported iCarsoft reporting/printing workflow. A printer is not included.

Straightforward Hardware & Lifetime Free Updates
The 4.3-inch, 800 × 480 colour screen is operated using physical navigation and function buttons. Vehicle communication uses the supplied diagnostic cable, while updates are managed on a compatible computer.
No annual software subscription: lifetime free updates are included. Follow the current iCarsoft update instructions and check computer compatibility before installation.
For buyers comparing platforms: the CR PRO+ uses physical buttons and PC-based updates; the CR PRO S offers a touchscreen and Wi-Fi updating.
Older Vehicles & Optional Adapters
Some older vehicles use a dedicated diagnostic connector. The BMW 20-pin and Mercedes-Benz 38-pin adapters below are optional accessories, sold separately; they are not included in the standard CR PRO+ package.

Frequently Asked Questions
+Are iCarsoft CR PRO+ software updates free?
Yes. The CR PRO+ includes lifetime free software updates with no annual subscription fee. Install updates using the iCarsoft update software on a compatible computer and the supplied TF card reader or supported USB update procedure.
+Does it work on every system of every vehicle?
No. Multi-brand all-system coverage means access to the systems supported for a particular vehicle; it does not guarantee every module or function on every model. Coverage varies by make, model, year, engine, ECU configuration and installed software.
+Are all 48 service functions available on my car?
The 48 functions are service categories across the supported vehicle range. Each vehicle supports a different selection. Send HIDS-DIRECT your VIN or registration, vehicle details and the precise routines you need before ordering.
+What is a bi-directional active test?
An active test sends a command through a supported ECU to operate a component, such as an ABS pump, window motor, fuel pump or door lock, so its response can be checked. Available tests depend on the vehicle and system.
+What if AutoVIN does not recognise my vehicle?
AutoVIN is not available on every vehicle. Try manual VIN entry or manual vehicle selection, then confirm the correct model and engine. Contact HIDS-DIRECT with your VIN if you need help. A future software update or release date cannot be guaranteed.
+Why do fault codes return after being cleared?
An unresolved wiring, component or calibration fault can cause a code to return immediately. Save the fault information before clearing codes and follow the vehicle-specific repair procedure. Some systems require a service routine or relearn after repair.
+Can the CR PRO+ programme keys?
Basic immobiliser and key-related routines are available on selected vehicles with compatible security systems. The CR PRO+ is not a dedicated locksmith programming tool. Check the exact vehicle and required key function with HIDS-DIRECT before purchase.
+Are older-vehicle diagnostic adapters included?
No. The standard package includes the 16-pin OBD2 main cable. BMW 20-pin and Mercedes-Benz 38-pin adapters are available separately from HIDS-DIRECT. Some older Sprinter vans require a 14-pin adapter, which HIDS-DIRECT does not currently supply. The correct connector alone does not guarantee vehicle or function coverage.
