Connect the scanner to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network to download available firmware, vehicle-software and coverage improvements. Updates may expand or refine coverage but do not guarantee every future model or function will be added.

CAN-FD Support for Later Mercedes-Benz Platforms

CAN-FD is a newer vehicle communication protocol used on selected later Mercedes-Benz applications, including platforms introduced from around 2020. The MB V4.0 supports CAN-FD alongside a wide range of established OBD and manufacturer communication protocols.

Older Mercedes-Benz & Sprinter Adapter Requirements

The standard 16-pin OBD2 main cable is included. Certain older vehicles use different diagnostic sockets and require an optional adapter, sold separately.

Mercedes-Benz 38-Pin Adapter
Required for supported pre-2003 passenger vehicles with the round 38-pin diagnostic socket, including selected C-Class W202, E-Class W210, S-Class W140, CLK W208, SLK R170 and SL R129 applications.

Sprinter 14-Pin Adapter
Required for supported Sprinter T1N and early NCV3 vans using the 14-pin diagnostic connection, broadly covering applications from 1995 to 2006. This adapter is sold separately and is not currently supplied by HIDS-DIRECT. Please contact us before purchasing the scanner if your van uses the 14-pin socket.
