Designed as a board-level replacement for compatible BMW LED headlamps using the references shown below, the kit covers both sides of the vehicle while retaining the original headlamp housings.

Vehicle compatibility

Designed for compatible BMW 1 Series F40 and BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe F44 models from approximately 2019 onwards using matching LED headlight and module references.

Compatibility is determined by the headlight and module specification, not registration year alone. BMW used several different LED headlight configurations depending on equipment level, headlight version and production date.

Before ordering, compare the original module number, connector arrangement, fixing points and PCB shape with the product photographs. If unsure, please send us the VIN together with clear photographs of the original module label and LED boards.

Yellow DRL upgrade

These boards are designed to change the standard white daytime-running-light appearance to a distinctive yellow / amber CSL-style DRL signature.

The product photographs show the actual PCB board design supplied, including the connector layout, mounting points and LED arrangement. The illuminated headlight image is provided as an example of the intended yellow appearance when installed in a compatible headlamp.

Please note: complete headlights are not included.

Board dimensions

Dimensions refer to the PCB boards themselves and should be used together with the product photographs when checking compatibility.

Installation notes

• Professional installation by an automotive lighting or electronics specialist is strongly recommended.
• These are internal LED light-source boards and require removal of the original PCB boards from the corresponding headlight module assembly.
• Disconnect the vehicle battery and follow the vehicle manufacturer's repair procedure before removing or opening headlight electronics.
• Inspect the headlamp for water ingress, corrosion and failed seals before installing replacement boards.
• Replacing the LED boards will not correct an unresolved moisture, sealing or water-ingress fault.
• Transfer or renew thermal-interface material where required by the original design.
• Ensure the LED PCB sits correctly against its heat-transfer surface before reassembly.
• Do not touch, contaminate or damage the LED emitters during installation.
• Clear stored lighting faults and test all headlamp functions after installation.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a complete control module?

No. This product contains the internal LED light-source circuit boards only. It does not include the aluminium control-module housing or the complete headlamp.

Does this kit cover both headlights?

Yes. The pack contains four matched boards intended to cover both headlamps, subject to the original PCB boards, module references and connector layouts matching the parts shown.

What board references are included?

The complete set includes 63119448115Y, 63119448116Y, 63119448115BY and 63119448116BY.

What colour light do these boards produce?

They are designed to produce a yellow / amber CSL-style DRL appearance instead of the original white daytime-running-light colour.

Will coding be required?

The LED light-source boards themselves are normally a hardware replacement, but fault clearing, calibration or further diagnosis may still be required depending on the vehicle, headlight system and any existing faults. Installation should be completed by a competent automotive lighting specialist.

Are the yellow DRLs road legal in the UK?

No road-use approval is claimed. UK MOT requirements specify white light for daytime running lamps where applicable, so these yellow boards are sold for show and off-road use.

Can I replace the complete module instead?

Yes. HIDS-DIRECT separately supplies complete replacement modules under references 63119448115 for the left-hand side and 63119448116 for the right-hand side.
